my friend wishes to tell you: "it's nothing".
The poster boasted, "A night to remember this mid December" but try telling that to a group of strong-headed girls and they still won't go to it with you. So twist it and talk about how much fun it will be to go to it together but they still shake their heads in harmony to the "nooo" they're saying. And that was exactly why reasons like: it's a waste of money, there's no time to find a dress, i won't go unless someone goes with me was repeated every time someone asked about it.
It sure looked like it was a no-go but being friends with student council members had me if-ing and maybe-ing it. I would have gladly bought the ticket and not go because it is our first prom on our own and supporting that is a good thing. It wasn't so much the issue of going alone but the idea of being without friends the entire night that was the turn off. Resigning to not going included scurrying away every time you hear the word 'prom' and daftly avoiding the broach of the subject.
But in the end I went and only because someone was nice enough to friendly-date it with me. If you're wondering about the friendly-date, it's when you go to something with a friend but since the event requires a date, your friend gets to be called your date=)
It was just as the poster had boasted. Memorable in every sense. However this is just one of those things that you had better been there to experience it rather than read it from some obscure blog. Since some of you have been bugging me silly for pictures, here's the few I took (too bad I had too little friends to take pictures with, and I wonder whose fault is that).

goofballs.
jet.
with sisters; elvira and angel.
kevin, mr. friendly date. here's proof we went together =)

the light streaming through the gaps in the curtains were the only true witnesses of the little words that were scribbled the morning after. maybe the two extra lines could be likened to an act of vandalism but it was necessary.
to remind. to put in place that that needed placing.
because otherwise, otherwise is only an otherwise, and somehow will always be the better confidante than maybe will ever be.
here's a huge public thank you to you (just because I can).
